Odelia Farms – Troy, IL
Posted on May 10, 2010
A couple of weeks ago I went out to Odelia Farms in Troy, IL to photograph their beautiful alpacas. I had a blast! Interestingly, photographing alpacas is a lot like photographing two year old children – they like to run around a lot, aren’t terribly good at following directions, and love to look anywhere but the camera. But, since I have quite a bit of experience photographing two year old children, I think I handled it quite well.
Odelia Farms has a great event on Saturday May 15th – A Shearing Day at the Barn – from 9-5. You can watch them shear the alpacas, shop in the farm store full of yarns and rovings, learn more about fiber, and even purchase your very own alpaca. Check out their Facebook page for lots of information about the Farm and this fun event.

Swing Fore Hope
Posted on May 7, 2010
Do you play golf? The Swing For Hope Golf Tournament will be held on June 21st at Sunset Hills Golf Club in Edwardsville, IL. 100% of the proceeds from this event are donated to fight against cancer and they have donated over $70,000 in the past three years.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time lately with the family that started this wonderful organization (that’s them below) and I am excited to be donating to the silent auction following the tournament. You can register for the tournament on their website and follow them on Facebook.
