Waiting
Posted on November 28, 2008
I had the pleasure of meeting this beautiful family this week. They are waiting for their new baby brother to arrive. Mom is simply beautiful. I had a great time talking with Dad and laughing with their two gorgeous children.
C Family – enjoy! I’ll be in touch soon. Oh, and all was well with the turkey frying
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Love, love, love this girl!
Posted on November 22, 2008
I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet girl for the first time last year. I was very excited when Mom called to schedule an appointment again this year. This little one is the sweetest, most polite little girl. And does she have some great outfits, not to mention the coats!
Miss G – I had a great time with you today! Thanks for hanging out with me and letting me photograph you.

Legs
Posted on November 22, 2008
I was so excited for this session! I photographed this sweet boy 3 months ago when he was brand new. He’s the one who gave me that sweet smile on my very first shot. I couldn’t wait to go back and hang out with this little man a bit more. And he did not disappoint – goodness he is cute! I just LOVE his legs. There is nothing better than chunky baby legs.
And I just love the little bit of drool in this shot.
He had the most excellent collection of hats. When I finish editing I will post a couple more of my favorite hat shots.

To Kenya With Love
Posted on November 11, 2008
Those of you that have been hanging around my blog for the past couple of years remember my trip to Africa and the newborn nursery at Kenyatta National Hospital. Here’s my blog entry on it. I had always hoped to do some sort of fundraiser for this nursery and it is finally happening! The Barnes-Jewish Student Nurses Association and Student Government are putting on quite a bash – To Kenya With Love at the Mad Art Gallery in St. Louis, 7-11pm. I’ll have more information about the fundraiser later, but for now we are collecting art to auction off for the nursery. Here are the details:
CALL TO ARTISTS
To Kenya with Love: A benefit for Kenyatta National Hospital newborn unit.
The Barnes-Jewish Student Nurses Association and Student Government invite area artists to submit original artwork to, To Kenya with Love, on December 12, 2008. All proceeds from accepted art will benefit the newborn unit at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
The benefit will take place on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 7pm-11pm at Mad Art Gallery, 2727 S. 12th Street, St. Louis, MO 63118.
Auction will begin in the gallery at 7:00 pm and bidding will close at 10:00 pm.
Please submit 1–3 images for review to Jacqueline Niebylski at pickwicksyndrome@gmail.com.
Finished artwork must be dropped off at Mad Art Gallery on Tuesday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 10th between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, unless other arrangements are made.
This promises to be a festive evening with food, music, and spoken recollections from doctors and nurses involved in the Neurosurgical Mission.
Support a great cause with your art.
About the Neurosurgical Mission:
In the spring of 2000, a group of neurosurgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists from Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis University Hospital, and St. Anthony’s Medical Center traveled to Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya for the first St. Louis Neurosurgical Mission. The goal of this mission was to provide neurosurgical services to a highly underserved, indigent population, and to help establish a neurosurgical residency program in East Africa.
In 2006, members of the neurosurgical team discovered that the Kenyatta newborn unit desperately needed assistance in acquiring basic supplies. Multiple infants share each linen-bare wire bassinet, and many are unclothed and undiapered. Abandoned infants are housed in this unit. They are fed formula with plastic medicine cups, because bottles are not available. The list of needs for this unit goes on and on.
Please help the Barnes-Jewish Student Nurses Association and Student Government raise money to support the Kenyatta National Hospital newborn unit.

People always say
Posted on November 7, 2008
“You must have so many pictures of your kids!” Yes, I do and 98% of them look like this:
Lovely. It is nearly impossible for that girl to have even the slightest shred of a normal face whenever there is a camera around.
However, I did get a few that I do love.
And one of my super-fast-not-gonna-sit-down, adorable nephew and his cutie pie cousins.
