Marathon Man
Posted on April 16, 2007
Yesterday my husband completed the Spirit of St. Louis Marathon. This was his first marathon and he finished in 4 hours 20 minutes. He had a great start and then started to experience leg cramps at about mile 18. Bill had family and friends all along the route to cheer him on. It was a great day and we are so very proud of him!
The wheelchairs start. Wow.
The runners start. There were a little over 10,000 participants – 2200 in the marathon.
Clothes all along the start line.
Mile 13
Getting a High 5 from Helen at mile 20.
Closing in on the finish line. Ugh he looks like he is in pain.
DONE!
I know a number of my regular blog readers participated in the race on Sunday – relay, half-marathon or full marathon. Congratulations to all of you!
