Sometimes the stars align {Belleville IL Photographer}

First, I have to say that I cannot believe that I have not blogged this session yet. But, better late than never I guess. This session was with my niece and nephew. I’ve been photographing them pretty much their entire lives and always get favorites from our sessions. However, much like it is difficult to photograph my own children (as in they just do not want to cooperate with me…click here for proof), it can sometimes be difficult to photograph extended family. That was not the case for this session. We had a blast and I was able to get probably my very favorite pictures ever of these guys.
Here are a few of my favorites.

Ah, the two year old. My son recently turned two and this little guy is just about to. It is an age of boundless energy, intense curiosity, and absolutely no interest in participating in anything that was not originally his idea. Which makes it a fabulous age for my style of photography. We ran all over this park during our session. We looked at fish in a pond, chased a frog, ran around the playground, climbed on benches…phew. I’ve been photographing this sweet guy since he was born and feel truly grateful that I get to spend time with him and his wonderful family. Happy Birthday B! Two is going to be an exciting and fantastic age for you!
Ha! I got a few smiles out of him even if he had plans for otherwise.
I absolutely love his expression here.
Love, love, love this one.
P. Family – thanks so much for sharing B with me again. I look forward to showing you the rest!

A couple of weeks ago Buckingham Studio and Speed of Life Photography held a totally fun event – Rock Your Profile Pic. It was such a blast. The evening was filled with laughter, hair spray, wine, lipstick, and my studio strobes flashing. Look at all of these gorgeous ladies!
I just had to do a separate image for my sister-in-law. She decided to go big with her hair and makeup. I know that Shawn and Sarah at Buckingham Studio had a blast giving her the works and I had a fabulous time photographing her. I had to add some extra, over the top processing to her image. Maybe for our next event we will have to do all crazy hair and makeup.

I am super excited to be putting on this fun girls’ night out event with Buckingham Studio! Bring your friends for a fun night of pampering and photos. The talented staff at Buckingham Studio will freshen up your hair and/or make-up and then I’ll photograph you for a new profile picture. You will get an image file that you can use for Facebook. We’ll have food and drink and best of all it is all free!
So here’s the deal: First, don’t show up expecting Buckingham Studio to do color, cut, style, and a whole new face make-over. Get dressed…do your hair…do your make-up. Need a little shine spray? A quick straighten? A little oomph? Yep – they’ll do that. Really don’t want someone messing up your hair after you spent all day fixing it? Fine, skip that part. It’s all good. Wear something you look great in. We are mostly going to do head shots, so put on some jewelry, wear your favorite color, look cute. Then, grab your friends and bring them along. Have a few drinks, some snacks, get all polished up, take a few photos, hang out, talk, laugh…it’ll be fun! Then in a couple of weeks your profile pic options will be ready. Easy.
When and where is this fabulous event you ask?
Monday July 12th, 6:30-9pm at Buckingham Studio, 715 Lakepointe Centre Dr. in O’Fallon, IL. Think you can make it? Give us a call (628-1119 or 628-3201) or send me an email. Hope to see you there!

I just love this little guy! He is about as cute as they come. He really did not want to participate in our session though. He had a lot of plans to take care of and a lady with a giant camera in his face was not really part of those plans. But – ha! – I got lots of good ones anyway.
B. Family – I know you have been anxiously awaiting these. I look forward to showing you the rest!
